My weekly wine, give me today - this week South Africa

The first wine is called The Wolftrap (2017) from Boekenhoutskloof in Franschhoek.

The area is in the Coastal Region of the Western Cape and is one of the most important wine valleys in South Africa founded in the 17th Century by French settlers. The climate is warm with moderating effects of the coastal winds and the surrounding mountains. Which leads to rich, full-bodied, flavorful wines, mainly from Cabernet, Syrah.

My weekly wine - Tasting Piedmont

About 2 years ago I had the chance to visit this amazing area in Italy - staying at an amazing place in Serralunga Di Montefalco and cruising around to all the Barolo towns - Barolo, La Morra, Castilglione, Monforte and Serralunga. Besides trying the big Barolos, I fell in love with Barbera, in particular with Barbera d’Alba.

My weekly wine - Battle of Sauvignon Blanc

Last week was international Sauvignon Blanc day, so I am dedicating this week’s tasting to the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

Why not go classic Sancerre or Pouilly-Fumé, which I also had in my line up? Having Sauvignon Blanc from two different regions of New Zealand was way to tempting to write about.
